How to Draw a Flamingo

The word "flamingo" comes from the Spanish and Latin word "flamenco" which means fire, and refers to the bright color of the birds' feathers. Baby flamingos are born gray or white and for them to reach their mature pink, orange or red plumage takes up to three years. The colour of their feathers is caused by carotenoid pigments in their food; flamingo's diet includes shrimp, plankton, algae and crustaceans. So, now that you learned so much about these beautiful birds, follow our simple step-by-step tutorial and enjoy drawing them!
